Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to schools to support pupils who may face barriers to learning and to help close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.
The funding is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years, are looked after by the local authority, or have parents serving in the armed forces.
How we use Pupil Premium funding
At our school, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Pupil Premium funding is used to support pupils in a range of ways, including:
-
Providing targeted academic support in reading, writing and mathematics
-
Delivering small group or individual interventions to address specific learning needs
-
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and wellbeing needs
-
Ensuring pupils can access educational visits, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities
-
Providing additional resources, support programmes and staff training
Our approach
We carefully monitor the progress and attainment of pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Strategies are regularly reviewed to ensure they are effective and that the funding is having a positive impact on pupils’ outcomes and wellbeing.
Our aim is to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their background, receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
Further information
Each year we publish a Pupil Premium Strategy Statement, which explains how the funding is spent and the impact it has on pupils’ progress and attainment.
